Reputation Architecture. Depth
Written down
before built.
The doctrine is the standard. Every surface is a test of it.
Reputation architecture without doctrine is decoration. The firm writes the doctrine first. Every surface that follows is built to enforce it.
What The Doctrine Is
Short. Precise.
Held by two parties.
The doctrine is a written document. Short. Precise. Held by the principal and the firm only. It states the principal's controlling position, the boundaries of engagement, the cadence of reinforcement, and the register in which the position is voiced.
How It Is Written
In conversation.
In private.
The doctrine is written in a small number of private working sessions between the principal and a named principal at the firm. There is no questionnaire. No template. The document is shaped to fit the principal, not the other way around.
01
Position
What the principal stands for.
02
Boundary
What the principal engages with, and what the principal refuses.
03
Cadence
The rhythm at which the position is reinforced.
04
Voice
The register in which the position is voiced.
How It Is Used
A test, not
a brochure.
The doctrine is the test every subsequent action is filtered through. Press requests, hire decisions, structural changes, statements, partnerships. Each is read against the doctrine before it is accepted. The architecture that follows is the consequence of those tests.
