Who We Are Not For

Most situations
the firm declines.

The discipline of a closed roster is mostly the discipline of declining well.

More engagements are declined than accepted. The reasons are consistent. The firm publishes them here so the situations the firm is not suited to do not arrive in the first place.

The Firm By Referral & Invitation Only

Volume Marketing

Not a
growth shop.

The firm does not run paid acquisition, conversion-rate optimization, lead generation campaigns, or volume-of-leads engagements. Principals seeking those services are better served by performance marketing firms whose discipline is volume. The firm's discipline is the opposite.

Reactive Crisis Only

Not a
crisis shop.

The firm does not take on situations whose only mandate is to manage the next forty-eight hours of press. Crisis communications firms do that work well. The firm engages on the architecture that determines what the next crisis costs, which is a different mandate and a different timeline.

Name Without Substance

Not a
fame shop.

The firm does not architect a principal's reputation in a direction the principal cannot defend in private. The doctrine phase tests this. Principals seeking visibility detached from a position they will hold are better served elsewhere.

Disclosure As The Goal

Not a
PR shop.

If the goal of the engagement is to be named in publications, listed in directories, or referenced in case studies, the engagement is not one the firm accepts. The firm's work is held in private. Principals seeking the opposite are better served by traditional PR firms whose model is publication.

Active Litigation Or Investigation

Counsel leads.
The firm follows.

If the principal is the subject of active litigation or a regulatory investigation, the firm engages only at the direction of, and in coordination with, the principal's counsel. The firm does not replace counsel and does not take on engagements where counsel is absent or excluded.

When a situation does not fit, the firm declines. Quietly, promptly, and without record.

Confidential Inquiry

Engagements are by referral and invitation only.

If a trusted source has introduced you to the firm, or if you believe your situation warrants direct contact, a senior principal will reply within forty-eight hours.
